Jacqueline “Jackie” McCann, 75, passed away on March 17, 2013. She was born on August 6, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to the late James and Grace Ryan. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Brendan; her five daughters, Susan (Pinardo), Colleen (Baez), Erin (Love), Eileen, and Kerry (Fredericks); eight grandchildren, Michael Pinardo, Brendan, Shannon, and Tucker Love, Mallory, Conor, Brynnan, and Teagan Fredericks; her brother, James Ryan and many nieces, nephews and in-laws and friends. Jackie graduated from St. Brendan’s High School in Brooklyn, NY. While raising her children, she enrolled at SUNY Stony Brook, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. Each of her daughters has followed in her footsteps by earning their college degrees. Jackie owned and operated a travel agency on Long Island for many years. She loved to travel, visiting over 30 countries on six continents and taking at least 30 cruises with Brendan. In 1990, Jackie and Brendan retired to Florida, making their home at Magnolia Point in Green Cove Springs. Jackie was very involved in Magnolia Point activities, including the Magnolia Point Women’s Club, the Ladies Nine Hole Golf League, the Red Hat’s and a number of children’s activities. Special thanks are extended to the staff of The Terrace at Fleming Island and Haven Hospice. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Donal Sullivan officiating.
