Manuel Rodriguez, Jr., 77, of Jacksonville, FL passed away Monday, March 10, 2008. Mr. Rodriguez was born to parents Manuel Sr., and Teofila Rodriguez on June 5, 1930 in San Antonio, TX and has lived in Jacksonville for over forty years. He was of the Catholic faith and honorably served his nation in The United States Navy. He retired as a Master Chief and was the holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross and received four air medals and six good conduct medals. Later, Mr. Rodriguez was the owner and operator of Edos Restaurant in Jacksonville and he also worked as a paper carrier for USA Today. He loved to read and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching baseball. Mr. Rodriguez is survived by one brother, Raul Rodriguez (Lupe); three sisters, Amelia Duran, Mary Reyna, and Gloria Soliz (John); several nieces and nephews; and his dear friend Shawna Mahaffney. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
