James L. Willis

James L. Willis, 67, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013. He was born on August 12, 1945 in St. Augustine, FL to parents Jesse and Marion Willis. He had served his country in the United States Navy and worked as a Vehicle Operations Assistant for the U.S. Post Office. He moved to the Clay County area in 1988 from Jacksonville, FL and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to fly radio controlled airplanes and was a member of the Gateway RC Club in Jacksonville. Mr. Willis also enjoyed fishing and playing softball. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Barbara Willis; son, Timothy Deane Willis (April) of Middleburg, FL; daughter, Cammie Renee’ Malone (Shawn) of Middleburg, FL; brother, Rodney Eric Willis of Palatka, FL and grandchildren, Devin Chassidy Moore, Jessica Marie Malone and Kaleb Catoe. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 28, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Military honors will be conferred at the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
