Nadine Strickland Sweat

Nadine Strickland Sweat, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away April 15, 2013. She was born on March 11, 1943 in Clay Hill, FL to parents Caleb and Lucille Strickland. She had been employed by Georgia-Pacific as a production worker, retiring after 20 years of service. Mrs. Sweat enjoyed her arts and crafts and will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Timothy Sweat; her brother, Larry Whitehead and by her step-father, Rudolph Whitehead. Survivors include her husband, Millard Lorell Sweat; children, Kenneth Sweat and Karen Deen (Douglas); sisters, Joenell Braddock, Eunice Kenney, Patricia Johnson, Diane Beasey, Judy Riddling and Marlissa Rosier; grandchildren, Ashley Pickard, Tiffany Sweat, Miranda Hamilton and Gavin Deen; great-grandson, Gage Pickard; several nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Cornbread Sweat. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Decoy Cemetery.
