Maj. Allen J. Tuttle

Maj. Allen J. Tuttle USA Ret., 79, passed away April 24, 2013. He was born on October 5, 1933 in Galion, OH to parents Calvin O. and Thelma May (Windbigler) Tuttle. He was a Major in the United States Army serving overseas during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War and had received numerous awards and medals. Following his retirement from the US Army he had worked at Walt’s Auto Parts and River Bend Golf Links at Reynolds Park and was a member of VFW Post #1988 in Green Cove Springs. Maj. Tuttle was predeceased by his wife, Inge, in 1998, a son, Marc Tuttle and a daughter, Jane Tuttle. Survivors include his daughter, Debra Gillies and her husband, Alan; 7 grandchildren, Jesse Hellard, Alana Gillies, Megan Gillies, Theresa Tuttle, Jordan Roller, Nicholas Tuttle and Abigail Tuttle; 4 great-grandchildren, Cameron, McKenzie, Caleb and Madison Hellard; and longtime girlfriend Toni Lee. Maj. Tuttle’s ashes will be inurned at Penney Farms Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 with Reverend Joe Barrie officiating. Full Military Honors will be conferred.
