Ruby A. Whitson

Ruby Annie Whitson, 77, of Green Cove Springs, FL went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2013. She was born on August 10, 1935 in Harriman, TN to Frank F. and Margaret Smith Foster. She was a homemaker and a member of the Congregational Holiness Church in Green Cove Springs. Mrs. Whitson was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Ernest “Buddy” Foster and a sister, Mary Jane McRae. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, G.W. Whitson; children, Patricia (Edwin) Shedd, Debra (Ricky) Cox, Clayton Whitson and Brenda (Jim) Mock; brother, Eddie (Bernida) Foster; sisters, Alma McRae, Sherolyn (Randy) Monk, Sandra (Allen) Ray; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Congregational Holiness Church, 2079 State Road 16 W, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
