Frederick George Conklin, 75, of Jacksonville passed away May 7, 2013. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 13, 1937 to parents John H. and Ann Lebright Conklin. He had been a resident of Jacksonville for over 25 years coming from Jersey City, NJ and Miami, FL. Mr. Conklin was retired from Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company where he had been an inventory manager for 30 years on numerous dredging projects throughout the U.S. and Caribbean. He was of the Catholic Faith and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He is survived by his wife, Joan Rolle Conklin; sons, Ricky and Donald Conklin; step-son, Glen Roy Rolle; daughters, Kimberly Hoskin, Bernadette Conklin; step-daughter, Glenda Rolle; brother, Charles Wolfsandle; sisters, Barbara, Jacquline, Helen and Susan; 12 grandchildren. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd Jacksonville, FL 32256 with The Rev. George Maniangattu as Celebrant. Inurnment of ashes with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
