SHULTZ, Marilouise Wilson Shultz, , a longtime resident of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, with her two daughters and family by her side. She will not only be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, but a remarkable woman. She was devoted to her family, friends, church, and volunteer work. After retirement Marilouise and her husband Glen volunteered countless hours working with the residents and Alzheimer patients at Wyndham Lakes Retirement Village. She was a life member of the National Republican Party, before she retired in 1988 was most recognized as one of the best Children’s Librarians in the state of Florida. She had as many as 300 children during the summer attending her programs. She was extremely passionate about everything she pursued.
In her earlier years she would volunteer her time to the Juvenile Shelter. She prepared Bible stories and crafts for the children, and always encouraged her own children to assist her and give of their time. She was on the PTA board, President of the WMU, and was a City Wide Tennis Champion when she moved to Jacksonville.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was the daughter of Jennie May Sanders and Earl Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Ovle Shultz, who died February 17th 2013, who was the love of her life. They had the great privilege of being married for 68 years and had known one another since their years in Junior High School in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Shultz Kevern, of Panama City, FL, and Janet Shultz Flye, and husband, William M. Flye of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Richard Lee Kevern, Jr. , and wife, Pamela Nicole Kevern, of Jacksonville, FL, Priscilla Lea Kevern, of Panama City, FL, Joseph Mark Wells, Jr., and wife, Bonnie Lee Wells, of Denver, CO, Jason Chapman Wells, of Houston, TX, Kelly Wells Ford, and husband, James Frank Ford of Greenville, SC, Megan Wells Ayers, and husband, Blake Ashton Ayers of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Noah Taylor Kevern, Alysa Lea Chismar, Nathan James Kevern, Naphtali Megan Ford and James Bauer Ford.
A Graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14,2013 at 1:30pm, United States National Cemetery in Jacksonville, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
