Edward Thomas Lunghofer, 85, "Tom" to his brothers & sisters, passed peacefully at Moosehaven Retirement Community in Orange Park, FL on Tuesday, May 14th.
He was born in Altoona, PA on June 25, 1927 to the late Joseph P. and Ruth A. Lunghofer.
Ed lived most of his life in Warren, OH while working at LTV/Republic Steel for over 30 years as a General Foremen. He married Louise Viola on October 10, 1944. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1997.
Ed served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was of the Catholic faith and became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose when he joined Niles, PA 627 on December 3, 1971.
Ed came to Moosehaven on June 29, 1999 and married Moosehaven Resident, Mary Ball on December 15, 2001. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2007. Ed was a loving husband and father who loved spending time with his family, playing cards and dancing. Ed was a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan, avid fisherman and golfer.
Ed leaves here to remember him in love and prayers: son Karl, daughters Susan Lunghofer (Eric) Gersh and Marlo Lunghofer (Neil) Halliday; 2 brothers; 8 grandchildren and many loving brothers & sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews. His son, Dwight Lunghofer precedes him in death.
He will be laid to rest in the Moosehaven Mausoleum.
