Joyce O'Brien

Joyce O’Brien, 70, of Orange Park, FL, passed away May 19, 2013 at the Orange Park Medical Center at the age of 70. She was born to Fred and Margaret Woodhouse on May 1, 1943 in Corning, New York. Growing up Joyce was very active in her Church Youth group, sang alto in the school chorus and played the clarinet in the band. Her Sister Sue remembers her being the life of the party, laughing and telling jokes to make others laugh. She married Larry O’Brien on July 1, 1961. They had three children, Patricia, James and Larry. Joyce worked as a Realtor for over 30 years. Joyce became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose when her husband, Larry joined Lakeshore, FL Lodge 2020 on January 1, 1983. Joyce later joined Lakeshore, FL Chapter 1495. Larry preceded her in death on October 28, 2009. She came to Moosehaven on November 24, 2010 where she resided for 2 ½ years. Memorial Service held at the Moosehaven Chapel on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 3:00PM with Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Chapter officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Larry at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. Joyce is survived by her three children, Patricia(Johnny) Janda, James(Terri) and Larry(Linda) O’Brien, sister Susan Woodhouse and brother Donald Woodhouse and 1l grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
