Kim Lavis

Kim Lavis, 43, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away March 31, 2008 at Acosta-Rua Center for Caring following her courageous battle with cancer. Kim was born on July 4, 1964 in Boulder, CO and moved to Green Cove Springs twenty years ago from Denver, CO. As a child, she lived in Germany and Thailand. She worked as a loan officer for Ameris Bank and enjoyed fishing, jet skiing, and the outdoors. Kim was an avid snow skier and loved Colorado. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. Survivors include her parents, Sue and Ray Coak of Arizona; one daughter, Darcy Lavis of Green Cove Springs; one brother, Remington Green (Kathryn) of Denver, CO; and her significant other, Steve Brookins of Green Cove Springs. Memorial services will be held in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 4:00 pm officiated by Reverend Tim Hall. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or (800) ACS-2345 are appreciated.
