Arthur L. Hall, May 19 1924 – May 31, 2013. Married Catherine A. Whitty April 20, 1946. Married Susanna J. Preller December 27, 1969. Four children: Arthur Jr, Mark William, Joanne Catherine, Marcia Lee. Eight grandchildren. Seven great-grandchildren. Graduated MIT, 6/45 & 2/46, BS & MS, Chemical Engineering. Held office in Phi Sigma Kappa, Alpha Chi Sigma, AIMME, and member Sigma Xi. Over 38 years with Cabot Corporation, lived and worked as an engineer in Massachusetts, Texas, Oklahoma, New York, and as a petrochemical executive in Argentina, Spain, Iran, and Brazil. Retired in 1983 as Vice President of Cabot Corp. Member of eight bands and orchestras over the years. Formed own German Umpa Band in Orange Park. Founded Jacksonville Tuba Christmas in 1995. Sailed East coast of USA and Bahamas for many years, and retired to Florida. Enjoyed skiing, sailing, swimming, tennis, boating, square dancing, speaking at Shepherd’s Center, playing trumpet, euphonium, and tuba. In accordance with his wishes, his body was donated to the Florida Anatomical Board for research. Arrangements for a memorial gathering will be announced soon.
