Phillip Pavela

Phillip Pavela, 79, of Orange Park, FL, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was born on July 14, 1933 in Chicago, IL to parents Phillip and Julia Rice Pavela. Mr. Pavela was a Korean War Veteran, serving his country in the United States Air Force. He worked in sales and management for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, retiring in 1995 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Lake Shore Post 137 in Jacksonville and Advent Lutheran Church in Orange Park. Mr. Pavela was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn A. Pavela; daughter, Carolyn Farhoud (Charles) and their son Jack; sisters, Gloria Stanich and Mary Biba (James); Farhoud; step-mother, Maxine Pavela and step-brother, Dan Pavela (Kandi). Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Advent Lutheran Church, 2156 Loch Rane Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073 with Pastor David Winter officiating.
