Arlene Owens

Arlene Owens, 65, of Green Cove Springs, FL for the past 63 years passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. She was born on March 19, 1948 in Grundy, VA to parents Lawrence Ratliff and Dora “Dot” Ratliff. Arlene was an LPN for over 25 years at Clay Memorial Hospital and a Case Manager for the Clay County Council On Aging. She enjoyed country and gospel music. She and her husband enjoyed scuba diving in the Florida Keys and they enjoyed a lot of time together on their commercial fishing boat. She was a member of Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Dora Ratliff. She is survived by her husband, Harold Owens of 48 years; daughter, Pamela (Johnny) Truesdell; Grandchildren, Brandi (Mel) Acres and John Christopher Truesdell; Great-granddaughter, Sunni Mae Acres; sisters, Jerlene (Bobby) Mann and Betty (Alfred) Clay. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs. Interment will follow in Little Ruth Cemetery.
