Leon F. "Sunshine" Hendricks

Leon F. “Sunshine” Hendricks, 72, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away June 27, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 16, 1940 in Green Cove Springs to parents, Frank and Nellie (Roberts) Hendricks. Mr. Hendricks loved his family, playing with his grandkids, fishing, vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, gardening, going to gospel sings, and was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church in Green Cove Springs. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 ½ years, Barbara J. Boyd Hendricks; sons, Bruce C. (Shirley) Hendricks and Mark L. (Tammy) Hendricks; daughter, Linda L. (Terry) Tucker; brothers, Clifford and Edward Hendricks; sisters, Ruby (Harold) Jones, all of Green Cove Springs, FL ;sister-in-law, Edith Hendricks, of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Mark Jacob Hendricks, Colton David Tucker, Alyssa Beatrice Hendricks, Donald Lucas Hendricks and Joshua Craig Hendricks; good friends, Erin Nicole Dunn and Jason and Brittany Caustic; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Monday evening July 1, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Congregational Holiness Church, 2079 S.R. 16, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043 with Reverend Ronnie Surrency, Reverend Henry Givens and Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating.
