Robert C. Smith

Robert C. Smith, 88, of Orange Park, FL, passed away July 5, 2013. He was born on July 20, 1924 in Birmingham, Al to parents Robert and Elizabeth Hiett Smith. Mr. Smith was a World War II Veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy. He worked in customer service for Florida Power & Light, retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Smith moved to the local area in 1991 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and was of the Methodist faith. He loved computer technology, golfing and cars. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Pauline R. Smith; daughters, Carolyn Hornbuckle and Barbara McAllister and two grandchildren, Jeff Hornbuckle (Kelly) and Dr. Vanessa White (Kevin). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning in the chapel from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
