Dan Minchew Johnson III, 78, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on July 10, 2013 . He was born on May 12, 1935 in Miami, FL to parents Dan M. and Marie Loyless Johnson, II. Mr. Johnson retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant having served 24 years. He later had another very successful career with RGIS as their Regional Director and retired after 23 years. Mr. Johnson has been a resident of Jacksonville since 1970 and was an active member of Orange Cove Seventh Day Adventist Church. He proudly devoted his time as an Elder and Head Deacon for many years . Dan and Jeanie enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time with family and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanie Johnson in 2012 and by his sons Danny and Douglas Johnson. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his children , Denise Johnson, Michelle (Colgate) Salomon , Julie Crabtree , John (Angela) Davis, Karen( Jimmy) Davis; sister, Gail (Bobby) Bullington and grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Danny Johnson, Israel Johnson, Jessica Salomon, Will Salomon , Rachel Crabtree, Kyle Davis, Kristen Davis, James Davis & Joey Davis ; great grandchildren, Paris, Javier, Alaina, Hailey and Julius. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Orange Cove Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4501 US Highway 17, Orange Park, FL 32003, with Pastor Andre Van Heerden officiating.
