Richard Glenn Hupprich

February 1, 1947 — July 28, 2013

Richard Glenn Hupprich, 66, of Penney Farms, FL passed away on July 28, 2013. He was born on February 1, 1947 in Derby, CT to Ortwin and Elizabeth (Meury) Hupprich. He had moved to the Penney Farms Retirement Community in 2007 from Zimbabwe. He was a Missionary with the United Methodist Church and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ansonia, CT. Mr. Hupprich loved the outdoors, working at P.E.T. project at Penney Retirement Community as well as other volunteer services including being an AARP tax volunteer. He also loved tinkering with IT and mechanical things. He mentored and cared for HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa. Mr. Hupprich was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Viet Nam. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; sons, David (Emily) Costello, Jay (Linda) Costello and Tshamala (Alicia) Hupprich; daughter, Donna (Dean) Adams; sister, Susan (Michael) Vacca; 4 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
