Helen Elizabeth Halligan

Helen Elizabeth Halligan, 85, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away July 31, 2013. She was born on May 21, 1928 in Boston, MA to parents Joseph and Stella Ber Plocharski. She was retired from the Clay County Appraisers Office and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband John H. Halligan in 1997; siblings, Martha Sniegoski, Jennie Marcy, Sophie Oliwa, Stephen Parsons, and Caroline LeVesque. Mrs. Halligan is survived by her daughters, Virginia Halligan and Jean Bazley; sister, Frances Glowik; grandchildren, Edward Bazley, Mary (Andrew) Abt and Sarah (Kevin) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Zoie, Sawyer and Archer Abt, Sean and Liam Campbell. A vigil service will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 U.S. 17, Fleming Island, FL 32003 with The Rev. Donal Sullivan as celebrant. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Clay County Council on Aging.
