Bonyiar S. McCort

Bonyiar S. McCort passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. She was born in Sophia, North Carolina to Stanley and Ethel Spencer on August 22, 1927. Bonnie worked her entire career in the banking industry. She enjoyed gardening and interior decorating as well as all beautiful things. Bonyiar loved her little canine companions Maggie and Ellie. She was a loyal and giving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Surviving family members include her loving husband Robert E. McCort; brothers, Bruce and Gordon Spencer; sister, Barbara Spencer; daughter, Bonnie Pope (Fred); sons, Spencer Helm (Carolyn) and Jim Helm (Kim); the children she gained through her marriage to Bob, Kathy Walston, Nancy Sands (Mike), Shirley Shevada (Tom), Linda Couchot (Scott) and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Chet’s Creek Church, 4420 Hodges Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32224 with Pastor Spike Hogan officiating. The family request memorial gifts in her name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4237 Salisbury Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32216. Her final resting place will be in Sophia, NC.
