Finley Richard Hobbs, 82, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008. He was born on December 8, 1925 in Brewton, AL to parents, Preston and Mary Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs was retired from the United States Navy and was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. He was also retired from the Clay County Road Department and Civil Service. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Fleet Reserve and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Mr. Hobbs enjoyed fishing and gardening and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Mary; daughter, Donna Nicholson (Mike); sons, Steven Hobbs and Richard Hobbs; grandson, Josh Hobbs; sisters, Bernie Mae Grimes and Nita Sue Kirkland (Kirk) and brother, Jack Hobbs. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
