Harold "Edwin" Baxley

Edwin “Big Wheel” Baxley, 67, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 13, 1946 to parents Harold and Alice Baxley. He was a life time logger even after a logging accident in 1984 that left him paralyzed. Edwin still continued hauling logs and equipment for his family business. He loved old cars and building hot rod motors, but most of all he loved letting the wind blow through his hair riding on nothing but a Harley. Edwin never let anything hold him down he enjoyed time with his family and extended family. He always left an impression on anyone he met and will be dearly missed by all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Baxley, step-father, Edward “Pop” Cavin and his sister Madeline Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Sherri Baxley; his mother, Alice Cavin; sons, Chase Baxley and Tom Robinson; daughters, Lisa Baxley Villa, Marlena Vassak and Jackie McGuirt; grandson, Connor Vassak; step-brother, Eddie (Bonnie) Cavin; sister, Lorraine Batten (Eddie) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
