Mrs. Jonnie Lou Braddock Pate, 82, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on October 11, 2013. She was born on February 12, 1931, in Callahan, FL, to parents John and Virginia Vanzant Braddock. Mrs. Pate had worked as an insurance claims clerk and had lived in the Clay County area for almost 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Middleburg, where she enjoyed traveling with her Sunday school class, as well as being a member of the Senior Choir and the New Beginnings Club. Mrs. Pate loved having family dinners, and she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Richard Carter Pate. Survivors include her children, Melanie Pate and Gerald Pate (Cynthia); brother, Glen Braddock (Gwen); brother and sister-in-law, C. Warner (Jeanette); grandchildren, Christina Miller, Jacquelyn Woodley (Jeff) and Raechel Murphy (Sean); great-grandchildren, Riley, Trinity, Carter, and Troy, and many extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Middleburg with Rev. Tim Martin officiating.
