Dorthy Geneva Gilbert

Dorthy Geneva Gilbert, 83, of Keystone Heights, FL, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Orange Park, FL. She was born May 18, 1930 in Mingo, West Virginia to parents William and Arpha McCoy Hess. Mrs. Gilbert has been a resident of Clay County since 1947. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of Congregational Holiness Church. She loved gardening, reading and loved to cook for her family. Mrs. Gilbert will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and her beloved husband, Jonah and son Donald. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her daughter, Patsy Gilbert Dunlap of Pensacola, FL; sons, Dennis (Susie) Gilbert of Fleming Island, FL and Douglas (Teresa) Gilbert of Keystone Heights, FL; sisters, Gertrude Ratliff of Palatka, FL, Dixie Zellner of Middleburg, FL and Jean Nicholson of Middleburg, FL; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Surrency officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis J.
