KATHLEEN DONAGHY CARROLL - 6/21/1924 - 11/2/2013 - Kathleen (AKA Kaye,
Mother, Nana, Aunt Kaye, Miss Kaye, and Green Eyes) was born in Lynch,
Kentucky and graduated from Cumberland High School. She married her high school
sweetheart, James Ernest Carroll, in January 1946, came to Florida on their
honeymoon, and returned to live in Jacksonville in 1946. She is survived by her two
daughters, Patricia Carroll Alters of Orange Park and Sandra Carroll Kahle of Kingsley
Lake (Wayne), seven grandchildren Cara Clark (Tommy), Celena Blunk (Scott), Byron
Alters (Michele), Heather Alters-Harber, Cindy McLain (Bobby), Scott Kahle (Lindsey)
and Eileen Blackburn (Bryan), nineteen great-grandchildren, six
step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived
by her sister Monica Greenlee and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces,
grandnephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her
husband of 58 years and her nine other brothers and sisters. She had a long career at
King Edward Cigars in Jacksonville and retired in 1989. She was a long time member
of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Green Cove Springs where she was a lector. Her
passions included deer hunting and gardening but her greatest passion was caring for
her family and friends. She touched many lives in a positive manner as a wife, mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be remembered and missed
by all she touched. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American

Visitation will be held, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 7190 U.S. 17, Fleming Island, FL 32003 with Father Donal Sullivan as Celebrant.
