Mark Ballard
September 27, 1933 – November 5, 2013
Mark passed away on November 5, 2013 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 80.
He was born to Paris and Millie Ballard on September 27, 1933 in Dade, Georgia.
Mark graduated from Berry College in Rome Georgia
Mark married Madrene Whorton on July 11, 1953. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2001. He had three daughters Teresa, Denese, Vivian and one son, Terry.
He worked as an electrician/mechanic for Florida Department of Transportation retiring in 1995. While there he was on the Council of AFSCME. While employed with DOT he was awarded the Heroism Award from the State of Florida.
Mark became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on September 1, 1981 when he joined the Jacksonville, Florida Lodge #455.
Mark was a member of Masons Grand Lodge of Chickamauga, Georgia.
He came to Moosehaven on December 1, 2011 where he resided for 1 ½ years.
Service held Moosehaven Chapel – Friday, November 8th, at 2:30 pm at 1701 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.
He is survived by his daughters Teresa Francisco, Denese Carpenter, Vivian Smith and son Terry Ballard, eight grandchildren - Isreal, Shannon, Melina, Whitney, Adam, Richard, Mark, Sarah, and step-granddaughter Laurin, 3 great-grandchildren – Rylie, Emily and Elijah and soon to be born granddaughters’ Ivy and Kennedy.
He was an avid Square Dancer, and loved singing Karaoke.
