Evelyn Bland

Evelyn Bland, 93, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Mrs. Bland was born to parents Lewis and Ruth Wager on May 23, 1915 in Green Cove Springs and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Bland was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Bland; one daughter, Margie Stilianou; her parents; four sisters, Lesley Taylor, Manita Knowles, Mary Schall, and Lucille Foy; one brother, Eugene Wager; and a great great grandson, Cid Kirkland. Survivors include nine children: David (Eleanor) Bland, Richard (Rose) Bland, Charles (Lola) Bland, Helen (Cliff) Lamson, Betty (Robert) Weese, Bill (Carole) Bland, Victor (Sylvia) Bland, Roger (Chris) Bland, and Gloria (Paul) Muenzmay; one sister, Emily Tillis; thirty four grandchildren; seventy one great-grandchildren; and forty great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11:00 am officiated by Reverend Mike Madaris and Richard Bland, Jr. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
