J.V. “Tommy” Silcox, 79, of Middleburg, FL, passed away February 8, 2014. He was born on March 31, 1934 in Doctor’s Inlet, FL to parents Lee and Alice Cercy Silcox. Mr. Silcox honorably served his country in the United States Army and had worked as a carpenter. He was a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of First Black Creek Baptist Church where he was very involved with his church family. Mr. Silcox loved to fish, hunt and watch sports. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Mary Howard Silcox in 2011. He is survived by his daughters, Tanya Chapin (Raymond) and Sabrina Nobles (Sport); sister, Muriel Collier (Lowell); grandchildren, Paul Riddle (Brandi), Mary Jacqueline “M.J.” Riddle, William Zakary Nobles, Jake Makenzy Nobles, Trey Tommy Nobles and Clayton Tanner Nobles; great-grandchild, Brayden Riddle and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at First Black Creek Baptist Church, 3904 S.R. 16 W, Penney Farms, FL with Rev. Bobby Register officiating.
