He grew up with his brothers, Richard, Ronald, and Melvin. Melvin preceded him in death. Paul married Annette Sharon on August 23, 1977. He and Annette met at the Moose Lodge as both were very active in the Lodge and Chapter. Not only did Paul gain a beautiful wife, he got an entire package – daughters, Karen and Kelly and son Kim. He was a proud WWII Veteran. He joined the US Armed Forces on March 4, 1953 and was in active duty until March 7, 1956 when he was released from active military service and transferred to Army Reserve and completed 8 years of service. His last hunting trip was in November, 2013 when he went to Hadley, NY where he and his son and brother met up for the hunt. He was proud to return to Moosehaven with pictures of his buck. He and Annette enjoyed their vacations going to Arizona, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, New Orleans, California, Colorado and a Caribbean cruise in 2007. He loved planting a garden, not a small one, a large garden that produced a bountiful supply for not only themselves, but friends and family. He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on November 6, 1967 when he joined Oak Island, North Carolina Lodge #2059. He was Past Governor in 1974, became a member of the 25 club on 4/19/1975 and received his fellowship degree on October 1, 1977. He was also a life member of Enoca, NC Legion 69.
