Christopher J. Allen

Christopher J. Allen, 58, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Friday, July 4, 2008. He was born on August 5, 1949 in Rochester, NH to parents, Lloyd and Irene Allen. He was raised in North Berwick, ME and moved to Florida in 1985 where he resided until his death. He was a United States Army veteran, having served a tour in Vietnam with distinction as an airborne paratrooper and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, ARCOM Air Medal and the Bronze Star. He worked for Hussey Seating Company for 40 years and then established his own business, Southeast Installation and Repair, Inc. Mr. Allen was of the Catholic faith and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Allen; daughter, Stephanie Allen and brother, Jon Michael Allen. Survivors include his mother, Irene Allen of North Berwick, ME; loving wife of 32 years, Carol A. Allen of Green Cove Springs, FL; sister, Deborah Bragdon of North Berwick, ME; granddaughter, Shilynne Miller; aunt and godmother, Lena Molleur of Eliot, ME; uncle and godfather, Wilbur Morin (Dorothy) of McLean, VA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery Chapel with Father Edwin Omorogbe officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel for visitation from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in the cemetery with military honors conferred.
