Vellie Jean Jennings

Vellie Jean Jennings, 71, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. She was born on October 21, 1942 in Baldwin, FL to parents Alfonso and Pauline (Geiger) Jolley, Sr. Ms. Jennings was a lifelong resident of Green Cove and was of the Baptist faith and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and sewing in the family upholstery shop. She enjoyed reading but above all she loved time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George W. Jennings. Ms. Jennings will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert W. “Bobby” Jennings and his wife Debbie, Charles S. Jennings and his wife Wendy and Jammie L. Jennings and his wife Sonja; daughters, Teressa J. Chapman and her husband Ron and Patty L. Polley-Wheeler and her husband Robert; brother, Lonnie Jolley and his wife Becky; sisters, Frances Wells and her husband Reggie, Velma Everson and Carolyn Doan and her husband Jack; sister-in-laws, Colleen and Carol Jolley; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Gene Janda officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
