Evelyn B. Hyde

Evelyn B. Hyde, 80, of Orange Park, FL, passed away March 4, 2014. She was born on November 23, 1933 in Cantwell, MO to parents Melvin and Maudie Stokes Hill. Mrs. Hyde had worked as a cashier and had lived in the local area since 1972, moving here from Norfolk, VA. She was a member and former president of the Garden Club of Orange Park as well the Road Runners Garden Circle. Mrs. Hyde was a member and former president of the Orange Parks Woman’s Club; member of the Clay County Women for Education and the Orange Park United Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Hyde, brothers James and Howard Hill and her sister, Georgia Ruble. Survivors include her daughter, Rowena Towsley; brothers, Daniel Hill, David Hill, Gary Hill and Roger Pinkley and two grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Orange Park United Methodist Church, 2051 Park Ave., Orange Park, FL 32073 with Dr. Charles C. Lever, Sr. officiating. Inurnment will follow at 2:30 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
