Denise Taylor Douylliez, 51, of Hastings, FL passed away peacefully on April 7, 2014 after her valiant fight with cancer. Denise was born on March 1, 1963 in Baton Rouge, LA to parents Ronald Delano Taylor, Sr. and Shirley Ann Judd Taylor. She has been a resident of Florida for the past 50 years, moving here when she was 1 year-old. She attended Bayview Elementary School as a child, and then Fletcher Junior High before graduating from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, GA. After high school she attended Brenau University in Gainesville, GA and Sanford-Brown University where she obtained her degree as an Ultra Sound Technician. Denise was the office manager for 10 years at the Jacksonville Beach Marine. She was the President of the Jacksonville Beaches Jaycees. Denise was a Christian and a member of Praise Congregational Holiness Church in Hastings, FL. She and her husband Gary owned several businesses in Green Cove Springs including: Taylor Closet’s, Rumors Café and City Bakery & Café. She loved doing crafts and was very artistically talented. Denise had one of those infectious smiles that would even make a stranger smile. But above all, her greatest joys in life were her husband, her 2 children of the heart and family. Denise will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ronnie L. Douylliez and is survived by her loving husband of 24 years Gary L. Douylliez; parents, Ronald and Shirley Taylor, Sr.; two children of the heart, Tyler E. Wilson and Jordan Garlitz; brothers, Ronald Taylor, Jr. (Eva), Kendall Taylor (Rose) and David Taylor (Dede); aunts, Jacqueline Friedewald (Bill) of New York, NY, Marilyn Boschung (Bo) of Alexandria, VA; uncle, Bill O. Taylor (Shirley) of Boise, ID; mother-in-law, Arlene H. Douylliez; brothers-in-law, Reverend Rick Douylliez (Cathy) and Kevin Douylliez (Charlotte) and many more extended family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Howard Kennerly officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
