Rev. Roland L. Jarrard

Rev. Roland Leavell Jarrard, 86, of Penney Farms, FL passed away April 19, 2014. He was born in Gainesville, GA on January 8, 1928 to parents Patrick and Annie Jarrard. The family moved to Ocala, FL when Roland was seven. He graduated from Ocala High School, attended Carson Newman College in TN, and graduated from Stetson University in DeLand, FL and the New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Roland married Rosemary Suits Stephens on June 5, 1996 in New Smyrna Beach, FL. They lived there until moving to Penney Retirement Community in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Jarrard; children, Joy Ewing, Joanna Stockard, Allison Sanders, all of Birmingham, AL, and Logan Jarrard of Greensboro, NC; nine grandchildren. Roland became stepfather to Rosemary’s children, Marydell Stephens of Seattle, WA, Cheryl Kremer of Ballston Lake, NY and Gordon Stephens of Foley, AL. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 3, 2014 in the Penney Memorial Church in Penney Farms, FL with Rev. Tim Martin officiating.
