Charles "Charlie" Leslie Szurgyi

Charles “Charlie” Szurgyi, 56, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born on February 26, 1958 to parents Mihaly and Julia (Erdosi) Szurgyi in Lackawanna, New York. Charlie has lived in Florida for the past 25 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was of the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Cindy Szurgyi; step-children, Tonya Hinks and her husband Patrick, Scott Henegar and his wife Nicolette, Nicole Fortier and her husband Karl and Jason Henegar; brothers, Arpad Szurgyi and his wife Elizabeth and Peter Szurgyi and his wife Debbie; sisters, Elizabeth Szurgyi, Julie Szurgyi and Veronica Patko; 10 grandchildren; father and mother-in law, Richard & Joan Hoag and several nieces and nephews and extended family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Donal Sullivan as Celebrant. A visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
