Julia "Judy" Melba Claxton

Julia “Judy” Melba Claxton, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2014. She was born on April 12, 1944 in Green Cove Springs, FL. Judy was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs and was a member of Harbor Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales, antique shops and traveling with her husband. Judy was an avid reader and a member of the Clay County Homemakers. She was a loving caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Judy will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, F.T. “Buck” Wall and is survived by her mother, Marie Futch Wall; husband of 33 years James W. Claxton; son, David F. Wright; step-son, James “Ernie” Claxton; daughters, Amy Wright Rhee (Raymond); step-daughter, Pamela Claxton Zavalza (Ray); brothers, Roger Wall (Carol) and Ronnie Wall; grandchildren, Joseph, Savannah and Dylan Wright, Austin and Ryan Rhee, James Medlock, Jessica Leonard (Jack); great-grandchildren, Allison and Abigail Leonard. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Harbor Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Jewell officiating.
