Ethel Stack passed away on July 8, 2014 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 86. She was born to John and Maggie King on July 14, 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was one of 11 children. Ethel worked at the Shipyard in Norfolk, VA during WWII when she met Phil. They married on March 1, 1947 in Hurlock, Maryland. They had two children, Phillip Jr. and Diane. Ethel enjoyed the many years working as a Cashier for A&P, Giant Food and Safeway. After retirement she and Phil enjoyed traveling in their motorhome all around the United States. She especially enjoyed the trip to Europe that Phil surprised her with. The visited Ireland, England and Scotland. She became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on June 20, 1969 when her husband, Phil joined Colonial Beach, Virginia Lodge #1267. Ethel joined Colonial Beach, Virginia Chapter #1636 on May 16, 1971. She received her Academy of Friendship on April 4, 1973 and College degree on June 23, 1974. Ethel came to Moosehaven with her husband Phil on May 24, 2011 where she resided for 3 years. Services will be held Friday July 11, 2014 at 1:30pm in the Moosehaven Chapel and conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Chapter. She will be laid to rest in the Moosehaven Mausoleum, Orange Park, FL. Ethel is survived by husband, Phillip Stack, resident of Moosehaven, Orange Park, Florida; son, Phillip Jr. and daughter-in-law, Holly of Olney, Maryland, daughter, Diane and son-in-law Jake Smith of Nokesville, Virginia; grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Irina Smith, Geoff Smith, Wanda Smith, Kelley Soyka, Mike Soyka, Kathy Consuegra, and Justin Consuegra; great-great children, Nicolas Smith, Sean Smith, Lexi Smith, Alison Consuegra and Brian Consuegra, also two sisters Hazel Jenkins and Juanita Levers and numerous nieces and nephews.
