Craven H. Horne

Sgt. Craven H. Horne, 48, of the Orange Park Police Dept., passed away Friday, August 29, 2008. He was born on October 31, 1959 in Gainesville, FL to parents, Jerry and Basilene Horne. Sgt. Horne served his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Marine Corps. He had worked for the Orange Park Police Dept. for 20 years and was a member of the Police Benevolent Assoc. and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Sgt. Horne will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Basilene Horne; children, Chelsea Horne and Brandon Horne; sister, Jerri Lynn Woods; niece, Ashley Parker; nephew, Matthew Parker; great-nephew, Hunter Parker and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Orange Park with Rev. David Tarkington officiating.
