Betty Rexius Jowers

Betty Rexius Jowers, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 3, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born to parents David Edward and Sophie Frances (Pawlak) Rexius on January 7, 1940 in Saginaw, MI. Betty has been a resident of Florida since 1973. She enjoyed counseling women at different women’s shelters in their time of need. Betty’s hobbies included decorating, scrapbooking and playing cards. The highlight of her week would be to go to lunch with her “Twisted Sisters” Joyce, JoAnn, Elaine and Linda who predeceased her. Betty was an all-around wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She was a devoted wife to her husband Stephen O. Jowers who predeceased her in 2013. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, David (Glennise) Schlinger, Joseph Schlinger, Lori (Frank) Re', Ellan (Thomas) Duke, Amy (Will) Brannon, Tracy Kernan (Kevin), Maryann Wilkerson, Stephen (Holly) Jowers, Robert Jowers and Gary Jowers; sister, Sharan (Michael) Vozar; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 nephew and 2 nieces. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 4:00 pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Craig Seaton officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
