Richard Albert DeAngelis

Richard Albert DeAngelis left this earth on August 10, 2014 at the age of 65. He was born Aug. 25, 1948 to Louis and Anna DeAngelis in Philadelphia, PA. From Philly he moved to San Diego CA, then to Salt Lake City UT, where he lived for 20 years and was employed as a bus driver for Utah Transit Authority. In 1999 he moved to St. Augustine FL where he resided at the time of his death. He was a school bus driver for St. John's Co., affectionately known as “Mr. D” to all his kids and their parents, many who became close personal friends. He retired due to medical issues but still tried to keep in touch with the families. Rich was a very personable and generous man helping anyone in need, earning him the love and respect of anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He loved children and animals, he even took care of the wild critters earning him the nickname Dr. Doolittle, he talked to the animals, and they talked to him. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, sons Michael (Christina), and Travis (Dani), daughter Heidi. Grandchildren Emilia, and Robert, and one on the way. Sisters and brothers, Maryann, Louis, Theresa, Linda, Thomas, and Robert. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Anthony, and son Brian.
