Command Master Chief Fredrick Embry Haisten, USN, Ret., 77, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on September 7, 2014. He was born on July 8, 1937 in Griffin, GA to parents Embry Asbury and Leila Goddard Haisten. Mr. Haisten was a retired Command Master Chief of 30 years’ service from the United States Navy. He had resided in Clay County for almost 40 years coming from Charleston, SC. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Orange Park United Methodist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vera Haisten; daughters, Teri Haisten of Orange Park, FL, Sharon Lee Kingston of Van Cover, WA and Betty Lynn Streetman (Lee) of Winterville, GA; sister, Mary Anne Willis of Columbus, GA; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 1.00 pm at Orange Park United Methodist Church with Reverend Pearl Bowles officiating.
