Betty Jo McCarthy

Betty Jo McCarthy, 66, of Middleburg, FL passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008. She was born to Roland and Betty Britt on December 22, 1941 in Lumberton, NC and moved to Middleburg twenty five years ago from Jacksonville. Mrs. McCarthy was a member of Cinnamon Street Baptist Church and was a retired school bus driver for Clay County School Board. She enjoyed reading and watching television in her free time, but her greatest joy was her family. Mrs. McCarthy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty four years, John Patrick McCarthy; three brothers: R.L., Erytle, and Morris Britt; and two grandchildren: Samantha and Christopher. She is survived by three children: Jimmy Arren McCarthy, Elizabeth Gail Hawkins, and John Russell “Buster” (wife, Tammy) McCarthy; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Cinnamon Street Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Vaughn Dalrymple. Interment will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
