Albert L. Redmon, 79, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Friday, September 19, 2008. He was born August 24, 1929 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Al served 20+ years in the United States Navy before retiring in Key West. He loved fishing and enjoyed playing golf, which he learned later in life. He dearly loved his three dogs Honey, Sheba and Reggie. In recent years, he was a trustee at Wards Creek Baptist Church. Al was married to the late Betty J. Redmon for 32 years, living in Key West from the 1950s to 1981, where they raised their daughter Marsha. Al was married to his surviving wife Barbara Redmon (who was his childhood sweetheart) for 16 years, living in Green Cove Springs; and is survived by his daughter Brenda Lee; grandchildren Rebecca and Rachel; and great-grandchildren Justin, Anna, and Amanda. He is also survived by his daughter Marsha Redmon Dimitoglou, son-in-law George and grandchildren Aliki and Ariadne. Other family includes brothers Jimmy and Robert Redmon; sisters Christine Blackwell and Cora Mae Woodfin; niece Shirley as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Al is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ethel Redmon, his brother Clifford and infant twins. He was very close to his dear friends Jamey and Stacy Newman. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Black Pond Baptist Church with the Reverends Earl Ashe and Charlie Hunt officiating.
