Howard William Carey, III

Howard William Carey, III, 62, of Orange Park, FL, passed away November 2, 2014. He was born January 8, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Howard and Clorinda Carey. Mr. Carey was a lifelong resident of Clay County, working as a master electrician for many years. Howard loved painting faces for all the Jacksonville Jaguar games. He also enjoyed playing golf, building model airplanes and was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Howard was a devoted husband to his love of thirteen years, Lida “Joyce” Carey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Carey. Howard is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Chris and Craig Chaney of Jacksonville, FL and Howard W. “Skeeter” Carey, IV of Middleburg, FL; daughters, Andie Padgett of Jacksonville, FL and Tiffany Carey of Middleburg, FL; brothers, Steve Carey of Jacksonville, FL and Robert Carey of Michigan; sister, Jenny Little of Waverly, TN; and his grandchildren, Lillian, Faith, Allyson, Kade, Alexis, Ethan, Baylee, Blake, Britney and Kyle. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Leslie Padgett officiating.
