Irene Smith was born on May 24, 1929 in Washington, DC. She was the youngest of four sisters born to Hodges and Victoria Davis who preceded her in death along with her late husband, Bobby Smith, and sisters Ruffie Davis and Robena Stevens. Irene attended Washington, DC Public Schools, and lived in Washington, DC before moving to Green Cove Springs, Florida in the 70’s. She was employed by Scott and Linda Lancaster from the time she moved to Green Cove Springs up until the time of her death. She enjoyed going to church and was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking cakes and pies, preparing wonderful meals for her family and doing whatever was needed to be of assistance to family members and those around her. Irene Smith departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at her home. She leaves to mourn her passing, but treasure her memory, one sister, Francis, nieces; Barbara, Anita, Christine, Elaine, and Lucille. Nephews; Melvin, William, Victor and Arthur. Great nieces; Helen, Shatise, Sherrie, Geneva, Tawanda, Teresa, and Angie. Great nephews; Freddie, Michael, Eric, Terry, Vernon, Terrell and Larry.
