Phyllis Marie Johnston

Phyllis Marie Johnston, 87, of Orange Park, FL passed away on December 1, 2014. She was one of eight children born to Stanley and Nellie Carter of Richmond, Virginia. She is survived by her brother Herbert Carter of Richmond, VA. Phyllis was married to John Johnston for 33 years until his 1979 death in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a much-loved “stay at home mom” and is survived by their four children: Linda Grashorn of Punta Gorda FL, Stanley Nelson Johnston of Portsmouth VA, Barbara Smith of Orange Park FL and Sandra Jumba, also of Orange Park FL. She had 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Phyllis was very active with the Portsmouth VA Loyal Order of Moose Chapter #966. She arrived at Moosehaven in 2002, where she remained for 12 years. There will be a private family memorial service to be held at a later date.
