Desmond Mohan

Desmond passed away December 15, 2014 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 84. He was born to Harry and Elleen Mohan on October 31, 1930 in New York City, New York. Desmond married Suzanna Sebesta on October 26, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2005. He worked as a master mechanic for Bill Buck Chevrolet for 38 years retiring in 2008. Desmond served four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic; from September 25, 1950 to September 24, 1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal as well as a medal of Good Conduct. He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on October 26, 1992 when he joined the Venice, Florida Lodge #1308. He earned his Fellowship Degree on June 12, 1995 and his Pilgrim Degree of Merit on May 25, 2002. He was a past governor and a member of the 25 Club sponsoring 80 members. Desmond came to Moosehaven on October 27, 2011 where he resided for 3 years. No Services at Moosehaven. He will be laid to rest in Venice, Florida He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Mumpower and Husband Joseph DeBenedictis of Venice, Florida and sons Kevin Mohan and wife Sheila of Murphy, North Carolina, Michael Mohan of Michigan and Brian Mohan of Sarasota, Florida. His granddaughter Wendy Schade of Venice, FL and his great grandson Sawyer Schade of Venice, FL.
