Joyce Moody

January 10, 1938 — December 30, 2014

Joyce Moody, 76, was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband's arms on December 30, 2014. Joyce was born in Caryville, Florida, on January 10, 1938, to Bernard and MaudS McWilliams. She attended Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida. On a blind date on Valentine's Day, 1955, she met Robert Moody, the love of her life. They were married the following June and began the living example of a loving, faithful and successful marriage that lasted 59 years. Joyce, our family's wolf pack leader, was a devoted Navy wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who had a never-ending supply of love and support to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Moody; son, Robbie Moody; parents, Bernard and MaudS McWilliams; and sister, Tommy Lynn Murphy. She is survived by daughters Lisa (Jeff) Neff and Karen Buller; daughter-in-law, Nancy Moody; sisters, Judy (Henry) Russ, Joanne (John) Player and Linda (Hertis) Davis; brothers Walton and Steve McWilliams; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Our hearts are broken but we know hers is mended now that she is reunited in heaven with her loving husband and son. A memorial service will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 6:00 pm with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorials to Shriner's Orthopedic Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.broadusraines.com. Arrangements under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043 (904) 284-4000.
