Mrs. Gwen Jenner

Mrs. Gwen Jenner, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Friday, November 21, 2008. She was born on June 14, 1938 in Princeton, KY to parents, William and Nell Fowler. She moved to the local area 40 years ago from the Owensboro and Marion, Kentucky area. In her early adulthood she was a drum majorette for 6 years and head majorette for 4 years. She was selected to attend Girls State in Frankfurt, KY in her junior year. She played clarinet in concert and jazz band and in her senior year was voted “Most Likely to Succeed” and was the Salutatorian of the class as well as Senior Class Secretary and Annual Staff. Mrs. Jenner worked as a secretary for the Clay County School Board, the Clay County Public Defenders Office, Deputy Clerk Circuit Court of Clay County and as Assistant Clerk, Circuit Court of Clay County. She was a volunteer at the Clay County Library in Green Cove Springs and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Ray H. Jenner; children, David Ray Jenner (Darleen), Rita Raye Forehand (Byron) and John Ray Jenner (Sherry) and grandchildren, Benjamin, Sarah, Elizabeth, Justin, Jared, Trenton, Kaitlin and Wyatt. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 24, 2008 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Joe Barrie officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin, Jared and Byron Forehand, Benjamin and Trenton Jenner and Doug Deel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
