Mary Alice Whittington

Mary Alice Whittington, 65, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born on August 12, 1949 in Fernandina Beach, FL to the late Bernie Monroe Barlow and Helen Marie (McCullough) Dean. Mary had been a longtime resident of Jacksonville and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was all about showing off her photos. Mary was a receptionist for a veterinary clinic for many years and loved animals second to her family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Hall. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Robert Lamar Whittington; son, Sean Whittington (Jessica) of Danville, KY; daughters, Shanna Whittington (Will Latham) of Keystone Heights, FL and Whitney Stogner (Paul) of Franklinton, LA; brother, Mark Barlow of Birmingham, AL; sister, Suzanne Schmidt (Greg) of Jacksonville, FL; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.
